Awarded the Sustainable Wines of Great Britain Gold Trade Mark
We are very proud to announce that Roebuck Estates has been awarded the Sustainable Wines of Great Britain Gold Trade Mark.
This fantastic award celebrates our commitment to sustainability and is a testament to our dedicated viticulture team, who work hard to ensure all our sites meet the exacting standards required to be certified under the SWGB scheme.
Sustainable Wines of Great Britain’s (SWGB) mission is “to secure sustainability at the heart of the UK wine-producing industry.”
The Scheme’s sustainability objectives are promoted through guidelines which encourage best practices, both in the vineyard and winery. These include areas such as managing soil health, reducing pesticide inputs, promoting biodiversity and minimising our vineyard carbon footprint per hectare. Only a selected number of UK vineyards achieve this accreditation, so we are very proud to be amongst those recognised for their commitment.
As Michael Kennedy, CEO of Roebuck Estates says, “The roedeer is renowned for leaving only the lightest footprint, and as a business, we strive to leave as light a footprint as possible on our wonderful environment”.
